We’re raising a frosty Root Beer Float to our friends at A&W Restaurants, who were just named one of Indie Agency News’ inaugural Top 40 winners—coming in hot at #12 for their standout "Free Floats for Life" campaign.

If you haven’t heard of Indie Agency News, it’s a platform dedicated to spotlighting the best work coming out of independent agencies and the brands that champion them. Their Top 40 list celebrates clients who actually take creative risks, trust their agency partners, and push for meaningful, buzzworthy work. So yeah—it’s kind of a big deal.

A&W earned the recognition with a campaign as heartwarming as it was headline-grabbing: offering free Root Beer Floats for life to anyone 100 years or older. It honored the brand’s century-plus legacy while inviting a new wave of love from fans, families, and the media—racking up over 1.6 billion earned impressions and a ton of heartfelt thank-you letters.
