Dublin, OH is a charming (if lesser known) Midwestern city just a shout from Columbus. Their tourism bureau Visit Dublin brought us in to increase awareness and also drive traffic from its more flashy neighbors. 

The brief? Make a small Ohio city a must-visit destination. 

By layering buzzy earned ideas on top of smart paid media, we’ve put a spotlight on the luckiest town in Ohio. Dublin, OH—highlighting Dublin’s itinerary-packing activities, top-rated restaurants, walkability, arts and culture, and so much more. Basically, all the stuff you want in a travel destination.

When people think of Dublin they think of Ireland. So to get people talking about the other Dublin, the one in Ohio, we extended a simple invitation across the pond.

To attract visitors from Dublin, Ireland to the city in Ohio, we helped Visit Dublin Ohio extend an especially warm invitation with cheeky OOH billboards and location-targeted social ads in downtown Dublin, Ireland, making an offer almost too good to refuse—free pints on St. Patrick’s Day.

Any Dubliner who made the 3,566 mile (or 5,738 km) trek to their American counterpart between March 8th and March 18th was rewarded with free pints of beer and plenty of “Visit Dublin” swag to take back home.

We leaned hard into sitcom nostalgia to highlight the ultra-wholesomeness and fun of this unique little city. Complemented by catchy music and super smiley talent, we showed off the city’s quirkiness, ease of travel, and classic Americana vibe to great success. Our resulting campaign “You’re in Luck” met or exceeded our KPI goals across all channels, generated 72% more clicks over our estimate, and over 202% more views.
