Challenge
The world needs a wake-up call when it comes to the harsh realities of the climate crisis. That wasn’t the brief (because there wasn’t one), it’s simply how we feel. And we had an idea to help.
We just didn’t have a client.
So with the help of our PR partner, Quinn PR, we identified a potential home for the idea and started pitching.

Execution
So with the help of our PR partner, Quinn PR, we identified a potential home for the idea and started pitching. We partnered with America’s first fossil fuel-free hotel— —on a new version of a classic guest service to help sound the alarm on global warming: a Climate Wake-Up Call.
In place of the typical wake-up call provided by a hotel’s concierge team, we arranged for interested guests to “wake up” to important facts delivered by leading voices in climate change, including David Pogue (CBS Sunday Morning correspondent and author of How to Prepare for Climate Change) and John Morales (ClimaData founder and Chief Atmospheric & Environmental Scientist).
Additional on-site touchpoints included signage and a large lobby phone to encourage guests to schedule their own Climate Wake-Up Calls.
We also helped Hotel Marcel launch a dedicated website where non-guests can listen to Climate Wake-Up Calls and find tips to support a sustainable lifestyle.

Results
For Hotel Marcel, the climate wake-up call is more than a marketing gimmick — it’s a way to encourage the public to pay attention to the mission that drives the hotel forward, demonstrating to other hoteliers it’s possible to run a sustainable hotel without sacrificing quality or raising costs.
